About us

Freelancer engagement, made evidence-backed.

Zooly was founded by Han R. de Groot, who has spent three decades building software and services for the flexible workforce, from FlexService and HelloFlex to CAOWijzer. Over those years one thing kept coming up: assigning projects to freelancers is a great way to work, but the paperwork and the risk of getting it wrong sit in the way. Zooly is our answer to that.

“Freelancing works best when everyone can see the facts. Clients get to know who they're working with, freelancers get to show they're the real deal, and auditors get the evidence. That's what we built Zooly for.”

FAQs

What is Zooly?

Zooly is a Freelance Management System. We help hirers, agencies and freelancers collaborate with everything documented and verified, so everyone is on solid ground. We provide the software and the services around it, from dossier checks to compliance monitoring.

Who is Zooly for?

Zooly is built for B2B collaboration: organisations that hire freelancers, agencies that represent them, and the freelancers themselves.

Is Zooly a work platform under the EU Platform Work Directive?

Zooly is a B2B Freelance Management System that supports relationships between clients and independent freelancers. It isn't a platform that organises work for platform workers, so it sits outside the scope of the Platform Work Directive.

How does Zooly verify freelancers?

Every freelancer has a personal vault, a dossier holding the information that shows they're genuinely independent. Zooly checks that information and shows the results as clear checkmarks. We do this at onboarding and keep checking throughout the engagement. Each freelancer also gets a compliance index, visible to both the client and the freelancer.

Can I start with just one freelancer?

Yes. You can start with a single freelancer and see how Zooly works before going any further.

What happens if an auditor or regulator asks for evidence?

You can hand over a complete, up-to-date dossier with a detailed audit trail, even for engagements going back several years, instead of piecing it together from emails and folders.
